Private Events at Main Library

Nashville's Main Library is the perfect special setting for your celebration, civil wedding ceremony, or business reception. The Library’s central location in the heart of downtown Nashville and its history of learning and literature make it an ideal venue for businesses and book lovers alike.

Settings

Ingram Hall Lobby

  • A spectacular, open space provides a grand welcome to all downtown visitors every day.
  • The lobby's elegant two-story room is topped by a bright, sky-like ceiling, overlooked by the Courtyard Gallery.
  • Ingram Hall has been the scene for public arts projects, City-wide Read events, and festive private receptions.

Margaret Ann & Walter Robinson Courtyard

  • An open-air civic space in the heart of downtown Nashville, modeled after Renaissance Italian piazzas.
  • Indigenous Tennessee plantings surround a striking water fountain.
  • Under starlight, the patio becomes a dim, peaceful outdoor area.
  • The Courtyard is the scene of the popular Courtyard Concerts. It is a unique stage for music.

The Memorial Foundation Grand Reading Room

  • The elevated view along Capital Boulevard provides a striking vantage. The grand balcony windows center the columned Tennessee State Capital, one of the library's architectural ancestors.
  • Greg Ridley's The Story of Nashville, an original copper-repousee art installation tops each book-case nook.
  • The original Reference area for Main Library is modeled after other U.S. city's grand, urban libraries, named along the ceiling.

Conference Room 1: Large (2-Sided) Multipurpose Room

Both sides together:

  • Standard A/V equipment + projection screen
  • Seats 300 theater-style (depending on chair availability), 115 classroom-style, 200 for meals, and 500 maximum capacity for a standing reception

Single side:

  • Standard A/V equipment + projection screen
  • Each half of the room seats 200 theater, 50 classroom, 80 for meals, 350 for a standing reception

Auditorium

  • Standard A/V equipment + surround sound, projection screen, and stage
  • 230 fixed theater seats
  • Refreshments must be served and consumed outside the Auditorium

Conference Room 2 and Conference Room 3: Small Meeting Rooms

  • Standard A/V equipment
  • Tables are set in a hollow square to accommodate 20 people

Standard Audiovisual Equipment

Our Audiovisual Specialist will make arrangements with you before your event. Equipment needs that g ;beyond standard are the client’s responsibility. Additional fees may apply.

Conference Center Rooms are equipped with:

  • Podium lectern and mic
  • 1 wireless mic
  • DVD playback on projection screen
  • Projector for PowerPoint presentations or similar (laptop not provided)

Catering

The Bridgestone-Firestone Conference Center has a fully-equipped catering kitchen for use by your caterer. Due to serving restrictions, the Conference Center Coordinator must communicate directly with caterers prior to events.

Standard inventory for use:

  • Chairs and tables
  • Buffet tables
  • Table skirting for panel tables only (you must provide your own linens for round tables and meal tables)

Special Accommodations

Make a Reservation

The Conference Center is busy year-round, so please make a reservation several months in advance. Use online form to request a reservation.

Check Availability

Email the Conference Center Coordinator to view the space. You may view the conference center facilities by appointment prior to your event. Drop-ins are discouraged, as rooms are frequently in use. Plan to view the space during library hours; it cannot be visited after library is closed.
