Your Stories Matter

The Nashville Neighborhood History & Culture Home Movie Project is an ongoing initiative with a simple goal: to preserve and share the home movies that capture life in Nashville. We’re seeking participants willing to contribute their personal films to our growing archive. 

Selected footage from Nashville community members will be digitized for free and preserved in the Metro Archives Audiovisual Heritage Center (AVHC) collection. 

We’re looking for any footage filmed in Nashville — everyday life, family traditions, community events, and more. All formats are accepted, including VHS, 8mm and 16mm film, Hi8, miniDV, and others. 

While the project is still developing, we plan to host screening events showcasing a compilation of donated home movies — and everyone will be invited to attend! 

If you’re interested in donating your materials, we’ll be hosting future drop-off events at library locations. None are currently scheduled, but please fill out the (Google) form below if you’d like to be contacted when the next one is announced.
