"The Canterville Ghost"
“The Canterville Ghost" is a short story by Oscar Wilde about an American family who move to a castle haunted by the ghost of a dead nobleman who killed his wife and was starved to death by his wife’s brothers.
Unlike most ghosts, especially the Victorian kind, the ghost that haunts the Canterville estate must be taken with a large dose of humor, as we watch him being undone by some little upstart American boys and reduced to a mere shadow of his former ghostly self.
And here we have a happy ending, to boot, another strange turn for any ghost story—and something of which we are not particularly fond here at All Things Eerie.
That said, turn down the lights, and join us for “The Canterville Ghost” by Oscar Wilde….
