In our latest episode, Metro Archives staff Sarah and Grace sit down with local sculptor and gallery owner Alan LeQuire.

Anyone who lives in Nashville—or has even just passed through—has likely encountered the work of Alan LeQuire. From the Athena Parthenos inside the Parthenon and the Musica sculptures on Music Row, to the Tennessee Woman Suffrage Monument, the Timothy Demonbreun statue and bust, and even the cast bronze front doors at the Main Downtown Library, his work is woven throughout the city. Alan’s work has played a major role in shaping Nashville’s visual identity.

In this episode, he shares stories from his career, including insights into the creation of Athena and the “Goddess in Progress” exhibit at the Parthenon. Tune in for a fascinating conversation filled with art, history, and Nashville stories!
