Amanda's Best Fiction and Romance Reads of 2022

December 22, 2022

Welcome back book fans. I hope you enjoyed my Best of Nonfic post a few weeks ago. If you missed it - check it out here. This week I’m going to share my favorite Fiction reads as well as a a couple Romance titles that were too great not to mention. So with no further ado, here are Amanda’s Six Best Fiction Reads of 2022, along with 3 Fabulous Romances:

I read an early review of this and knew it was one I had to read. This is the book I wanted Ernest Cline to write after Ready Player One. For my complete thoughts, check out my previous review then check this one out.

This is one of the first books I read in 2022 and it was honestly one of the best. It’s hard to start the year out so high because the only way it can go is down. (It didn’t, thankfully.) Excellent read about some ballet dancers in Paris. If ballet is your thing, check out my previous post for other ballet bests.

You know I’m always down for a great food book. This one couples that with a smart chick doing her thing. Check out my Thanksgiving post for all my thoughts and some more foodie friends.

Like the above book, this one is about smart people doing smart things. I haven’t read a lot of Moyes, but I think I’m going to have too. This one was just too good to not chase more like it.

For some reason I initially had a block against this one, but I’m so glad I persevered. Who doesn’t love a great road trip with an old friend who you’ve lost touch with? Emily Henry has captured me and I will read anything she writes (see also: Book Lovers).

I love when an old trope gets flipped on its head. She’s the bodyguard. He’s the famous actor who needs protection. Cue: Whitney Houston song. Katherine also falls in the category of I’ll read anything she writes. I’ve loved both of her books so far (see also: Things You Save in a Fire).

And now for the romance...

I read this book a few months ago and I still don’t know what to do with it. It was amazing and weird and captivating and I’ve never read anything like it - which I don’t get to say very often. Just read it. Form your own opinions then let’s talk.

Basic premise: two radio personalities make up a relationship to goose ratings and then end up falling in love. Very entertaining. Plus Solomon then went on to write The Weather Girl, which I’m all kinds of here for.

This one pulled me from the start. Loved Mac. Loved Cooper. Kinda reminded me of Gilmore Girls a bit. Um, yes please.

So those are my best recommendations for you. Hopefully there is something in there that will catch your fancy.

I wish you and yours all the best for 2023 and hope you have a safe and joyous holiday season.

Happy reading…
:) Amanda
