Experience Wishing Chair's Newest Show, "La La La: A Story of Hope"

April 2, 2024

This Friday and Saturday, Wishing Chair Productions is premiering a brand-new puppet show in our Children's Theater! After you read the book, come see the show on Friday and Saturday mornings at 10:30 and 11:30 AM, April 5 through April 20.

Based on a picture book by 2023 Nashville Public Library Literary Award honoree Kate DiCamillo, La La La: A Story of Hope is the story of one young girl's search for connection and friendship. This nearly wordless performance echoes the nearly wordless text of DiCamillo's book, and presents a story with which we can all identify. Illustrated by Jamie Kim, this beautiful book is available for checkout in our collection.

If you miss your chance to see La La La this month, do not fret! Bringing Books to Life (BBTL) is hard at work preparing an entire early childhood curriculum based on this new show. Beginning in July, participating early childhood programs in Davidson County can choose to have the Puppet Truck visit their school, with La La La on board!

If you represent an early childhood program in Davidson County and are not yet a BBTL partner, now is a great time to reach out!  In addition to Puppet Truck visits, we offer story times, professional teacher development, and family literacy workshops, all free of charge. Email us at bringingbookstolife@nashville.gov for more information.
