Amanda's Best of 2025 Fiction & Romance

December 25, 2025

Welcome to my last blog post of 2025. It’s been an eventful year with everything that’s been going on at the library. If you haven’t found your best book yet, allow me to share my Fiction Faves and then go out with my best Romance Reads. NPL has such a big collection, there is absolutely a favorite read just waiting for each person to find it. Perhaps these might be good candidates for yours.

Best of Fiction

Country musician angers his fan base and loses his career and wife. And cue life rebuilding. Loved it. More please.

What if the Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding battle happened in Ice Dancing? This one gives us all the drama we never knew we wanted.

This book is what would happen if A Man Called Ove happened at a wedding. I really enjoyed this one and was pleasantly surprised with the whole book.

I have yet to read a book by this author that I haven’t really enjoyed. This has made a lot of best lists. I liked it, but it wasn’t my fave cuz I’m not the biggest fan of space. Still a good read.

Another great read from this author. Basically I’m here for anything he wants to write.

Best of Romance

I always love this author and this one is no exception. We have a snarky mustard marketer and a handsome vet. What more do you need for a good story? Have a Kleenex though, cuz this one gets bumpy.

Ok, I will read anything this author writes. And she gave me a hurricane? Uh - yes please!

Loved this one so much, I couldn’t stop listening to the audio once I started. Everly has been selected as a make-over candidate on her favorite reality show. Just because the camera guy is a big grump doesn’t mean this won’t be the best experience of her life.

I really enjoyed this one. The story was great and I wanted to be friends with the characters. The author had a lot of good material here - hopefully she’ll spin some off into a sequel.

This one was so good, I read it in one, four-hour sitting. Loved the characters. Loved the premise of enemies coming together to write a TV show. Yes please.

And that’s a wrap for 2025. I hope your 2025 has been stellar and I wish you peace, joy, and reading for 2026. Finish off the year strong and then kick off 2026 with some great reads. To quote the great Nate Bargatze - “Reading is the key to smart.”

Happy Reading…
:) Amanda
