With Overdue Adventures doing Ghosts of Saltmarsh (a book you can absolutely check out), let's shine a light on some of the other campaign books in the collection that you can use to run a game with your friends!

We also wanted to give you a few tips on the best way to get a crew of people together to try out these adventures.

Feel the cold touch of death in this adventure for the world's greatest roleplaying game. Beneath the unyielding night sky, you stand before a towering glacier and recite an ancient rhyme, causing a crack to form in the great wall of ice. The mad wizards of the Arcane Brotherhood long to possess that which the god of winter's wrath has so coldly preserved--as do you! What fantastic secrets and treasures are entombed in the sunless heart of the glacier, and what will their discovery mean for the denizens of Icewind Dale? Can you save Ten-Towns from the Frostmaiden's everlasting night? Brave the frozen North of Faerun in this Dungeons & Dragons adventure for characters level 1-12. Explore the frontier of Icewind Dale! This book provides DMs with rules for running D&D adventures in icy tundras and wintery climes. First-time DM made easy

These campaign books are a fantastic way of giving you a framework to work within and still allow you to dig into the areas that interest you. The books will have a starting point, ways to connect your players to the plot and plenty of npcs, combat situations, and treasures. What this means for you is that you can delve deep into whatever you love most. If you want to create more detailed maps, practice doing voices, or sow in duplicitous npcs; you can build to your heart's content. The book can be your life line that you lean on as much or as little as you desire.

Take a stand against the giants in this adventure for the world's greatest roleplaying game Giants have emerged from their strongholds to threaten civilization as never before. Hill giants are stealing all the grain and livestock they can while stone giants have been scouring settlements that have been around forever. Fire giants are press-ganging the smallfolk into the desert, while frost giant longships have been pillaging along the Sword Coast. Even the elusive cloud giants have been witnessed, their wondrous floating cities appearing above Waterdeep and Baldur's Gate. Where is the storm giant King Hekaton, who is tasked with keeping order among the giants? The humans, dwarves, elves, and other small folk of the Sword Coast will be crushed underfoot from the onslaught of these giant foes. The only chance at survival is for the small folk to work together to investigate this invasion and harness the power of rune magic, the giants' weapon against their ancient enemy the dragons. The only way the people of Faerun can restore order is to use the giants' own power against them. To defeat giants, you need to be giant! (from catalog description)

There's a thread for that

Another great thing about running a game using one of these modules is that you are not alone. Many have used these same modules so there are a ton of ideas online for guidance, tips and new perspectives. Even if you have a player who has played this same campaign before there are tips on how to tweak the module enough that it can be a fresh experience for everyone.

Diabolical dangers await in this adventure for the world's greatest roleplaying game. Welcome to Baldur's Gate, a city of ambition and corruption. And can you ever hope to find your way home safely when pitted against the infinite evils of the Nine Hells? * This heroic Dungeons & Dragons adventure book takes players from levels 1 to 13 as they journey through Baldur's Gate and into Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells. *  (from catalog description)

All you need are dice

Seriously, we have the books for the campaign AND the player's guide. You can find the character sheet online for free and print it off (psssst...I know a place) and if you need a location to play I know of over 10 locations where you can reserve a private room for you and your friends to meet.

The only thing you will need to buy are dice for that satisfying clickety-clackety feel of success or failure. Now if you are all about that digital life, you can download a dice app so the out of pocket cost is nil.

We are talking zero dollars for a bespoke story-building time with your friends. Come on through, we have everything you need to get started.

Need a hand?

In January, we are offering several options to get into Dungeons and Dragons with programming at Edmondson Pike, (a session for teens and another session for adults) North (for tweens) and Thompson Lane (for adults).

Keep an eye on our events page for more information on times and how to register.
