Summer Reading Challenge 2026 is Still Going Strong!

July 1, 2026

It is now July, and the library's Summer Reading Challenge is still going strong! We hope that you have been keeping track of each day you read online or on a paper log (available at branches). Every fifteen days of reading makes you eligible for prizes you can pick up from your local library branch.

What activities are NPL librarians completing for Summer Reading Challenge?

Back in June, I asked my fellow Summer Reading Challenge committee members to share what they were looking forward to reading this summer. For this time around, I asked them which Summer Reading Challenge activities they're enjoying.

Danielle, Children's Librarian at Main, has been been having fun participating in library programs (see activity #2) in partnership with Church Street Park, including weekly Music and Movement and special guests like Nashville Zoo and Nashville Ballet! Check out our Events calendar to find library programs at a branch near you. Danielle can also mark #13 off her Summer Reading list, as her newest reads, The Children and The Devil and Mrs. Gooch, are both from the New Book collection!

Jamal, Adult Library Associate at Main, just picked up the book everyone is talking about, Yesteryear, from our Lucky Day collection. He can also check activity #13 on the Summer Reading list!

I am currently reading Sublimation by Isabel J. Kim. As it's set in South Korea, reading this book will allow me to complete activity #8 from our Summer Reading Challenge list!

The rest of the Summer Reading Challenge committee is busy making sure that the Summer Reading Challenge actually happens, but do not worry: there are thirteen other activities from which to complete your ten. We hope that you continue being a part of Summer Reading Challenge all July long!
